Cynthia Ganey grew up in Las Vegas, went to Western High School and UNLV. She has been married for 23 years, has three wonderful children and one grandson. After her 12-year jaunt in the corporate world as Director of Information Management, she now owns and manages a home inspection company with her husband, Tim.  But her passion – running!

Cynthia’s running journey first started 8 years ago when she set out to do her first marathon with Team in Training. Since completing her first marathon, she has gone on to complete over 60 full and half marathons, ultra marathons and triathlons.

Because of her love for the sport, Cynthia wanted to find a way for other people to experience that same incredible feeling…that sense of accomplishment she gets every time she crosses the finish line of an endurance event. So six years ago, in an attempt to reach out to more people to get them moving,  she started coaching!

Cynthia is a certified RRCA, TNT and USATF run coach and has trained over 500 people to complete a full or half marathon with a 100% success rate! Cynthia has been an accomplished group coach for ‘Team in Training’, the endurance training program for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Determination’, the endurance training program for The American Cancer Soceity, and she was the Head Coach for the Rockin Runners, a running organization in Las Vegas,  In addition, she does personal coaching for those that may want a bit more individualized one-on-one coaching.  Now, Cynthia heads up the running and training group within Desert Sky Adventures that she started in 2011. The group has doubled in size and continues to grow. The vision is to have a year round running/walking group to make available a venue to where runners and walkers can meet to run and walk for fun and adventure, in addition to training for a specific endurance event.

Because of Cynthia’s great efforts towards giving back to the community, Cynthia won The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Woman of the Year for 2010. She has been featured on radio interviews and various newspaper articles with regard to her coaching and philanthropic activities. She has been a keynote speaker at various informational meetings for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and The American Cancer Society encouraging people of all walks of life to participate in an endurance event while at the same time giving back and saving lives.

Cynthia joined Desert Sky Adventures to further expand her reach into the community, to provide more opportunity for runners and walkers of all levels to participate in a variety of different running and walking events, such as the Summerlin Half Marathon, Rio Del Lago 100-Mile/100K/50K Ultra marathon and the Moms Rock! 10K/5K/1-Mile Fun Walk; events of all distances and levels for both runners and walkers.

Cynthia instills an environment that is not just about running and/or walking to complete a marathon or a half marathon. She creates an environment to make running and walking fun, and encourages people to make it become part of their everyday lifestyle, while making good friends along the way. Since Cynthia started running 8 years ago, she has met hundreds of great people and has made so many lifetime friends, that she feels like she has an extended family. As she continues her running journey, she hopes that you will come along and start your journey with Desert Sky Adventures!
