Desert Sky Adventures offers training in a rewarding and exciting environment at your own pace!

Our philosophy is that training should be an inspiring, enriching and fun experience.

  • We train all levels, beginner to advanced, runners and walkers
  • If you want a boot camp…that’s NOT us!

We have several years of coaching experience, certified through RRCA, TNT and USATF and have trained over 500 people with a 100% success rate! 

We are offering 2 packages for our running group. Both groups will start January 13, 2013 and go through April 13, 2013….14 weeks of fun!

1) $140 (for 14 weeks) – Complete coached training program

  • Personalized training schedule for any half marathon during the training period
  • Sunday group runs to include course maps and water stations
  • Cross training, speed/interval work and hill training
  • Additional information needed for a successful training:
    • Running shoes / clothes
    • Hydration
    • Fuel
    • Nutrition
    • Motivation
    • Recovery
    • Injury Prevention
  • Guest speakers providing valuable knowledge on running,health and fitness
  • Unlimited email and phone calls throughout the week
  • Race day information needed for a successful race
  • Post half marathon recovery training
  • 15% off of all DSA events
  • Free training shirt
  • Unlimited fun, meeting new friends who enjoy the same sport as you!
  • Social activities, coffee and/or breakfast after training, happy hour get togethers, etc.
  • Complimentary 30-minute Fascial Stretch Therapy session ($50 value).

2) $70 (for 14 weeks) – Non coached…train for your event using your own training schedule or just come out and run and/or walk for fun!

  • Sunday group runs to include course maps up to 12 miles and water stations
  • Guest speakers providing valuable knowledge on running, health and fitness
  • Weekly emails
  • 15% off of all DSA events
  • Discounted DSA training shirts
  • Unlimited fun, meeting new friends who enjoy the same sport as you!
  • Social activities, coffee and/or breakfast after training, happy hour get togethers, etc.
  • Discounted Fascial Stretch Therapy sessions.

The group training will be held every Sunday morning at one of four different locations in Summerlin, which will include training on the actual Summerlin Half Marathon course!

Kendall Brosnahan is a RRCA certified run coach and state licensed soccer coach. She began her running career with Team in Training raising money for cancer research. After completing her first marathon she discovered her love of running and has completed an additional 15 events. She became a certified coach in order to help others discover their passion for running. Kendall is a busy wife and mother of two who knows a few tricks on how to balance home life with running and exercise. DSA is proud to have Coach Kendall on their staff!

 

docjohn Dr. John Vigil (Dr. John) graduated from Texas Chiropractic College in 1999 and has been in practice in both Texas and Nevada. While working with patients he discovered a true passion in the athletic community for the care of sports related injuries and preventative practice. Dr. John is the only Chiropractic Physician, Certified Level II Fascial Stretch Therapist (FST) in Nevada. Dr. John uses a comprehensive plan to restore balance, function and relief from sports injuries utilizing FST. He is a certified running coach and ultra-marathon runner who understands the athletic needs of a runner.

 

Colleen is a certified walking coach and is part of DSA California Coaching Division. Colleen picColleen’s first marathon was the Catalina Marathon in 2006, a challenging event that propelled her into her love of the outdoors, trail hiking, walking and mountain biking. She has competed in numerous events as a speed walker. Most weekends you will find Colleen walking, trekking, or on her mountain bike on the trails and wooded areas of Southern California. She heads up the Women’s Walkabout Southern California event and is a strong proponent of walking for health and adventure.
